The first single from Full On, “Cloud Beat”, is now available for sale on iTunes. Soon it will be for sale elsewhere. Written by Shana Falana & produced by Karl Marx. Much love to Braxton Nations and Burlei Us!
A brief interview with the members of Full On! — myself and Shana Falana — in anticipation of the for-profit release of our first single “Cloud Beat”.
Full On! - Go (inst. edit)
Shana Falana & I made this directly after “Stars”. We weren’t totally happy with the vocals, so here’s an edited instrumental version.
This one got a lot of attention from people wanting to put it in commercials etc., but it never panned out. If you want to buy it, let me know!
Full On! - Stars
Full On! is Shana Falana’s rock outfit. She also makes lovely warm folk-ish ambient-ish music on her own. We met in 2004 on the set of a commercial; we exchanged music. One of the songs she gave me was “Stars”. I took it & added production around it & voila.
Johnny Jupiter - Beat Puppet (Remix)
My favorite of the three Obtuse remixes. Layered drum & percussion samples with programmed sine waves. Shana Falana on back-up vocals.
Johnny Jupiter sounds nice on this. I’d love to work with him more…
Lament (acapella)

Lament (ft. Shana Falana)
Skipping ahead in time:
In 2008 my friend & sometime collaborator Shana Falana was approached to provide music for the German-market re-release of a movie called A Gun For Jennifer. (We never got paid & haven’t seen a copy of the finished film.) Along with several songs of her own & a couple I produced, she asked me to make something using old vocal takes of hers. “Lament” is what I came up with, using three or four songs’ worth of Falana’s wordless singing. The producers had been looking for something danceable, so it was a failure in that respect, but they liked it anyway.
You can hear this song in the background of Episode 3 of The Tavern, an ongoing documentary series I’m involved with.
